Live Journal Community:
1. Adventures in health Care, http://community.livejournal.com/healthcare/
This Community looks like it is a place where people who work in, are interested in, or spend much time in a health care environment can post interesting comments and even websites that may be helpful to the others in this community. Also people are free to ask the opinions of others with more experience or interest in the healthcare field.
I found this community interesting because I am also interested in the healthcare field: mainly Physical Therapy. I enjoyed reading the posts on this page because I found them to be entertaining, interesting, and even helpful. For example: someone posted a really interesting webpage to look up all your health questions!
“Today is a glorious day. I got into the office here and discovered that over the weekend, some HIMS staff had taken all the charts (20,000 or so) and put them into ~400 boxes. And now our warehouse vendor is taking all those boxes away.
No more paper charts.
Awesome.”
“Dear RN I work with:
I just scolded you for not answering your pager not once, but twice. Once when a patient's family member was on hold and once when a doctor was on hold. Do you realize that they hang up and call back and yell at me because you didn't answer the phone? You could at least let me know you couldn't answer the phone. How many times do I have to tell you this? You are the reason people think hospitals suck. I really kinda hate you. You walk like a duck. How did you ever graduate nursing school? You are one of the most annoying people I think I have ever met. Please stop talking to me. I hate your accent. I am not your friend. We are NOT going camping. I am glad you are quitting. August 5 can't come soon enough.”
Blogs:
1. Friends of Ishmael, http://www.myspace.com/spreadishmael
This person has created a page to help spread the word of Daniel Quinn’s book: Ishmael. This blog is closely related to our class because we are studying the book Ishmael and we are studying the online world and dignity- Therefore, this page fits right in!
“Quinn mentions in his book that the only way to save our planet from destruction is to change the minds of everyone... to teach 100 and have them each teach 100 more. With Millions of people floating around on Myspace, how many people can you influence? Just by having us on your friends list you are helping to spread the word. My hope is to eventually have thousands of friends online all helping eachother for a common good: To stop the destruction of life on earth. IT IS POSSIBLE.”

2. Laura, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=38954455
Laura is from Colombia. I found this blog interesting because I am interested in the Country of Colombia and also because of a blog she wrote. If you click to read her blog: Winter Blue, you will see that this girl must be very talented with words in order to express herself that deep in such a neat way. I like reading peoples blogs when they are written in this manner. I find it so interesting!
“If I call... If I take the phone right now... What am I going to say? Would he listen if I can't say a word? Would he be able to listen to my soul?”
“Inside, the blood is warm... red is warm, but winter is not. Winter is blue. Does he know? Does he know that I'm waiting for him? Does he know that I'm dead?”
3. Am I Insane???, http://txdevil.livejournal.com/
I found this blog interesting because it is just some random person talking about everyday type things: Their birthday, their husband, employment, family time, etc… Its kind of like reading a book.
“my daughter is bringing home dirty socks that she finds outside..
hrm.. I guess that's better then bringing home an animal..”
“My husband loves me enough to knee me in the head.. :P”
